To be different, to change the image, to amaze those around you with new facets of its beauty - all this can be easily achieved using modern hair colors, the richness of shades which surpasses the most violent fantasies. But is this beauty procedure safe?
Hair dye designers claim that yes, referring to the naturalness of the components of the products and the innovativeness of their manufacturing techniques. But what is really behind these assurances?
The classification of hair dyes, based on the principle of action
1. Tint colors - they are distinguished by instability, leading to the fact that the desired color disappears after 5, or even 3 procedures of washing the head.
2. Tinted paints - more resistant, hair coloring in tone loses its quality only after 10-20 methods of washing the head.
3. Resistant paint - The effect is lost slowly, gradually, but does not disappear completely.
It is not difficult to guess that the maximum effect of staining in the latter case is an unconditional risk to the health of the hair with frequent excessive application. Reason: chemical reactions causing a persistent staining effect.
What is contained in hair colors?
All resistant hair coloring products, whether bleaching or dark, incorporate two components: hydrogen peroxide and ammonia (i.e. alkali). Both components, providing the desired color hairstyles, have a negative ability to make hair thin and dry. The exceptions are safe natural dyes, not so numerous in modern colors - Basma, henna, black tea.
but natural dyes can not provide consumers with proper cosmetic result. The maximum that gives the use of chamomile or lemon juice is a certain lightening of the hair, not more than one tone.
Are there any safe hair dyes
Often the label means the consumer assures that it does not contain ammonia. Does this mean that all concerns can be dropped? Alas!
As a rule, this only means that the paint is saturated with hydrogen peroxide in large quantities. Also, it can be ammonia derivatives that do not have a pronounced strong odor, but the harm of which is beyond doubt. It is not necessary to harbor illusions about the fact that the means with a pleasant smell is absolutely harmless.
Beauty or health - is there a compromise
It turns out that hair coloring should be rejected as a dangerous procedure? Not necessary. Just need to take into account some factors.
The use of resistant paints, giving an excellent aesthetic effect, will certainly worsen the health of the hair, so it is very important to support them with the help of special lotions, firming masks and shampoos. It would also be good to purchase a comb made from natural material.
The use of tint and tinting agents is much safer, since their composition does not include hydrogen peroxide and ammonia. But confidence in the resistance of such staining, of course, no.
What to choose - beauty or health? I want to think that there is a reasonable compromise for everyone.
